Maharashtra Reports 178 Deaths, Over 2,700 Covid-19 Cases In 24 Hours; Delhi's Tally Rises To 42,829

Amid the surging cases, a positive development is that a total of 1,69,797 people have recovered from the deadly Coronavirus. In the past 24 hours itself, as many as 7,419 Covid-19 patients were cured.

New Delhi: India sees no respite from the deadly Coronavirus as the country recorded over 11,000 new infected cases and at least 325 deaths, pushing the total tally of Covid-19 cases to 3,32,424 and death tally to 9,520 on Monday. Currently, there are 1,53,106 active cases under medical supervision across India. According to the  state health department, the worst-hit Maharashtra recorded the highest single-day spike of 178 deaths today, along with 2,786 Covid-19 cases. State capital Mumbai itself continues to face Coronavirus at its face as the financial capital recorded nearly 1,066 COVID19 cases today, pushing the total number of cases in the city now at 59,201. With this, the total number of cases in the state now stands at 1,10,744. The state and city authorities reported that while Maharashtra reported 178 deaths, Mumbai alone registered 58 fatalities in last 24 hours.  As per the official updates, as many as 30,125 Covid-19 patients have been recovered or the discharged in the Mumbai city making the total number of cured cases in he state stand at 56,049. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation reported that 2,248 peopel died in Mumbai making the state death tally racing over 4,000. Reportedly, 4,128 people have lost their lives to the novel disease. ALSO READ | Coronavirus: With Death Toll Over 9K, India Ranks 9th In Terms Of Fatalities; Check List of Countries With Highest Deaths So far National capital Delhi also reels under the Coronavirus pandemic recording no drop in the number of cases. Delhi witnessed a growth of 1,647 cases in last 24 hours with 73 deaths, taking the total number of fatalities in the national capital to 1,400. As per the latest updates, the national capital has now registered as many as 42,829 Covid-19 cases. Of these, more than 16,000 people have recovered and been discharged from hospitals. The total number of active cases present in the state are 25,002.
