BJP Files Complaint Against Kamal Nath For Allegedly Using Derogatory Terms For Female Leader Imarti Devi
Imarti Devi, a staunch supporter of Jyotiraditya Scindia ,defected from the congress to BJP during the power shift in Madhya Pradesh from BJP to Congress. She also served as the minister during the 15 months congress government in the state.
Former Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath sparked controversy while campaigning for the Congress’s by poll candidate Suresh Raje for the Dabra assembly seat of Gwalior district. He allegedly called his former colleague Imarti Devi “Item”. Fumed with outrage the BJP immediately lodged complaint against the former CM with the Election Commission for his derogatory remarks against the schedule cast candidate and demanded to ban Kamal Nath for campaigning.
Meanwhile Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the current CM took to the twitter and said, Imarti Devi rose from becoming a laborer to a public servant, and is helping building the nation. The statement depicts the feudal mindset of the power-hungry congress men. Condemning the statement of Kamal Nath.
BJP Rajya Sabha MP Jyotiraditya Scindiya also termed the statement objectionable and commendable. He also tweeted about the incident saying that this is the time the arrogant leader should be taught a lesson not just for disrespecting women but also the whole Dalit community.

While the BJP is busy condemning the statement of the former CM, media coordinator of Kamal Nath Narendra Saluja issued a statement that Kamal Nath didn’t name anybody. BJP is linking the minister’s name just to defame her and the party and its leader should apologize.
Imarti Devi reiterated after a day that she has enough evidence to prove her allegations. Imarti Devi with 21 other MLA who were loyal to Jyotiraditya Scinda defected from the Congress and resigned from the assembly in March earlier this year in the process of overthrowing Kamal Nath’s governments.
Madhya Pradesh is currently going through the By-polls on 28 assembly seats, counting will be held on 10th of November.
