Lakhimpur Violence: Suvendu Adhikari Hits Back At Mamata, Alleges 'She Made Bengal A Killing Hub'

Earlier in the day, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Uttar Pradesh over violence in Lakhimpur Kheri.

New Delhi: Reacting to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s “killing raj” remark, Leader of Opposition in state Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, on Monday claimed that the Trinamool Congress chief has made the state a “killing hub”.

Suvendu Adhikari told news agency ANI: “Mamata Banerjee is an opportunist. She made Bengal a killing hub. 55 BJP workers were killed in post-poll violence in West Bengal. The one who has made Bengal a killing hub should not question Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath who is working towards 'Ram Rajya' in the state”.

The TMC supremo’s former protege also dissed her massive Bhabanipur bypoll victory saying: “It was not an election. It was given to the Election Commission. The majority of people in Bhabanipur are against Mamata Banerjee. She won the election with the help of fake voters. She is an unpopular chief minister”.

Earlier in the day, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Uttar Pradesh over violence in Lakhimpur Kheri.

She alleged that there is a “Killing Raj” in the state, as opposed to “Ram Raj”. “This is a very sad and unfortunate incident. I have no words to condemn this incident. The BJP government does not believe in democracy. They only want autocracy. Is this ‘Ram Raj’? No, this is ‘Killing raj’,” Mamata  Banerjee told media persons in Kolkata, as quoted by ANI.

Political tussle between the ruling BJP and the opposition parties sparked up once again after eight people were killed on Sunday in Lakhimpur Kheri.
