Bike-Borne Duo Opens Fire At Jammu Sweet Shop, Social Media Post Warns Of 'Worse Things'

No casualties reported in the incident, which took place Saturday evening. The attackers reportedly enquired about the owner of the shop, who was not there at the time of the incident.

At least two suspected criminals opened fire at a sweet shop on the outskirts of Jammu late Saturday evening. The incident occurred in the Miran Sahib area of the city. According to a PTI report, a police officer said the two youths, who arrived at the scene on a motorcycle, are known to have frequented the shop.

The bike-borne criminals enquired about the owner of the shop, who was not there at the time of the incident, the report said.

The officer added that no casualties were reported in the incident. The motive of the attacker remains unknown.

An X (formerly Twitter) handle by the name of 'Abbu Jatt' later claimed responsibility for the attack and said that if their “demands are not met” even worse things could happen. They also said that their “brothers are out there”.

"We are claiming responsibility for what went down today, the firing outside the Mirasahib Khajuria (sweet shop). If our words go unheeded, this could get even worse. We are here but our brothers are still out there. So don't mistakenly assume that we have turned over a new leaf and are practising peace. If our demands are not met, the next bullet won't be fired in the air," read the post, which was in Hindi.
