Jammu and Kashmir: Terrorist killed on the day of his sister's wedding; Security forces down two militants in Handwara

New Delhi: Two unidentified militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Handwara area of Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. Two militants have been killed in the encounter at Galoora area of Handwara, in the north Kashmir district, a police official said. It is further being reported that the killed terrorists have been identified as Furqan Rashid Lone and Liyaqat Ahmad Lone. ABP News has learnt the sister of one of the militants who was killed in the encounter was supposed to get married today. Watch video- The police official said the identity and group affiliation of the slain militants is yet to be ascertained. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area early Tuesday morning following specific information about the presence of militants there, the official said. The search operation turned into an encounter after militants fired upon the forces in the morning. The operation is underway. (With inputs from PTI)
