Elements Trying To Revive Terror Structure In Jammu From Across Border: J-K DGP In Joint Meeting

The Jammu and Kashmir top cop stressed monitoring the activities of all suspects besides the elements trying to revive the terror structure from across the border.

Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh directed officials to strictly monitor the activities of all elements attempting to revive the terror structure from across the border in the Jammu region. The top cop on Thursday visited the Mahore area in Reasi district, where he chaired a joint meeting of officers from the police and the army and also reviewed the security and crime situation of the district. He asked the officers to be vigilant on all fronts, especially while keeping track of movements of anti-national elements and their supporters.

"Reasi district is a sensitive place as it connects with the border district of Rajouri as well as to the valley. There may be attempts of crossover and as such, all the forces should work in unison," DGP Dilbag Singh said, as quoted by news agency PTI.

The officers were asked to take stringent actions against the people found involved in providing any kind of support to terrorists.

Addressing the officers, he appreciated the synergy amongst the forces for maintaining peace in the area. He sought to devise joint area domination plans for the district with the involvement of Panchayati Raj Institutions and village defence groups for monitoring and generation of human intelligence.

The J-K police chief asked jurisdictional officers to take stringent action against those found involved in the narco-trade.

At the very outset of the meeting, the DGP asked for reports from jurisdictional officers about the prevailing security situation in the district. The officers apprised him of various measures taken with regard to security as also for controlling crime.

He asked officials to circulate contact numbers of the police and security forces for information generation and emphasised that the cooperation of people is a must for maintaining peace in the area.
