Jagan Reddy Writes To Chief Justice Of India, Accuses Justice Ramana Of Attempts To Topple Andhra Govt
Levelling serious charges against the higher judiciary Jagan Reddy has alleged that Supreme Court’s senior judge and next-in-line Chief Justice of India Justice NV Ramana “has been influencing the sittings of the (Andhra Pradesh) High Court."
New Delhi: In a letter to Chief Justice of India, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has alleged that next-in-line for CJI - Justice NV Ramana is trying to influence the High Courts due to his proximity with former CM Chandrababu Naidu.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has written a letter to the Chief Justice of India (CJI) SA Bobde apprising him of the recent happenings in the High Court in particular reference to the alleged intervention of sitting Supreme Court judge Justice NV Ramana to protect the interests of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and its chief N Chandrababu Naidu. He urged the CJI to look into the material placed before him and consider initiating steps as may be considered fit to ensure the State judiciary’s neutrality is maintained.
'Justice Ramana influencing roster'
“Sri Justice NV Ramana has been influencing the sittings of the High Court including the roster of a few Honourable Judges and instances of how matters important to Telugu Desam Party have been allocated to a few Honorable Judges…,” the Chief Minister’s said in his eight-page letter. The Chief Minister also accused Justice Ramana, the second senior-most judge in the apex court after CJI Bobde, and some state high court judges of trying to topple his “democratically-elected” government in the state to "covert actions of former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu". “With a sense of pain and anguish at the politicisation of institutions personally monitored by Sri N Chandrababu Naidu through honourable sitting Judges of Supreme Court, facts would clearly demonstrate that the august institution of the High Court is being used to destabilize and topple the democratically elected Government of the State of AP with an indelible trail leading back to the overt and covert actions of Sri N Chandrababu Naidu through Honourable Sri Justice NV Ramana,” the annexure to the letter read.
