IPL betting case: Salman Khan’s brother Arbaaz summoned by Thane Police

The 50-year-old actor was summoned by Thane police on Friday afternoon.

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s brother Arbaaz Khan was summoned by Thane police in IPL betting scam on Friday. As per reports, Arbaaz allegedly placed the bet through top bookies. As per news agency ANI sources, the 50-year-old actor was summoned by Thane police on Friday afternoon and he has to appear tomorrow to join the investigation. The summons was issued to the Bollywood actor after a bookie Sonu Jalan was arrested and interrogated by Police. He is said to be one of the country's biggest bookmakers in connection with the Thane IPL betting ring. IPL betting case: Salman Khan’s brother Arbaaz summoned by Thane Police Bookie Sonu Jalan Sources say Sonu was threatening Arbaaz who had allegedly lost Rs 2.80 cr in bets. Sonu told this to police while questioning. Jalan has been arrested several times by the Mumbai Police in the past for involvement in cricket betting. Earlier, police had arrested four suspected bookies who allegedly ran a betting racket during the recently-concluded IPL season from a shop in Dombivli, Mumbai.
