'Instead Of One Nation, One Election, We Want One Nation, One Education': Arvind Kejriwal In Haryana — WATCH

He said that instead of 'One Nation, One Election,' people want 'One Nation, One Education' and 'One Nation, One Treatment,' where rich and poor will get equal education and treatment.

New Delhi: AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday took a dig at PM Modi-led government over the idea of ‘One Nation, One Election’, and asked what will the common man gain from such an arrangement.

He said that instead of 'One Nation, One Election,' people want 'One Nation, One Education' and 'One Nation, One Treatment,' where rich and poor will get equal education and treatment.

Addressing a rally in Haryana's Bhiwani, the Delhi CM said, "BJP is talking about 'one nation, one election' but we want 'one nation, one education' where the children of poor and rich get an equal level of education."

The Centre on Saturday notified an eight-member high-level committee to examine and make recommendations at the earliest on the issue of holding simultaneous elections to the Lok Sabha, state assemblies, municipalities, and panchayats.

Earlier in the day, Kejriwal in a post on X, said, "What is important for the country? One Nation One Election Or One Nation One Education (Rich or poor, equal good education for all). One Nation One Treatment (Rich or poor, equal treatment for all) "What will the common man get from One Nation One Election?"

Meanwhile, Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi also slammed the government over the ‘One Nation, One Election’ concept.

"One nation, one election' is nothing, but a ploy of BJP to distract people from their failures and their recent electoral defeats in Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh," Gogoi told PTI.
