‘India's Past, Present & Future Not Complete Without Tribal Community’: PM Modi At Rajasthan’s Banswara

The event was also attended by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday highlighted the importance of tribal communities in the country saying that “India’s past, present and future is not complete without the tribal communities,” reported news agency ANI. “The struggle & sacrifice of tribal communities didn't get their rightful place in history written after independence. Today, the country is rectifying that decades-old mistake. India's past, present and future is not complete without the tribal community,” he said.

Speaking at Rajasthan’s Banswara at ‘Mangarh Dham ki Guarav Gatha’, PM Modi said “Every step of our freedom struggle, pages of history are filled with tribal valour.”

The event was also attended by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Speaking about Gehlot, PM Modi said, “Ashok ji (Gehlot) and I had worked together as CMs. He was the most senior in our lot of CMs. Ashok ji is still one of the senior-most CMs among those who are sitting on the stage right now.”

“Tradition of worshipping martyrs has been started once again by PM Modi. It is PM Modi who decided to celebrate 'Janjati Gaurav Diwas' on Nov 15 in the whole country,” Chouhan said during the event.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel expressed his grief over loss of lives in the Morbi bridge tragedy where 134 people were killed.

“I express my condolences to the bereaved families of the victims of the Morbi incident. May the affected families find the strength to go through the pain,” he said.
