'The Arrogant Ones Are In Power': Tharoor's Reply To Pralhad Joshi's 'Ghamandi Alliance' Jibe
Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has reacted to the 'Ghamandi' alliance comment of Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and said that it is unnecessary to use the term of the opposition.
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has attacked the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and said that it is reacting to every issue in an "exaggerated" manner because the name of the opposition alliance (I.N.D.I.A) has gotten under the saffron party's 'skin'. He alleged that it has erred the BJP so much that they are even trying to change the name of the country to Bharat. His statement came in response to Union Minister Pralhad Joshi's 'Ghamandi alliance' remark.
"...The arrogance of power has been very visible. So to apply 'Ghamand' to the opposition is a bit unnecessary and a bit futile because those who are arrogant are the ones who are in power," Tharoor said.

"That's what we're seeing every day. I think that clearly, the name we have given the alliance has got under their skin and that's why they are reacting in this exaggerated way and even trying to privilege the name Bharat which is also both our names in the Constitution of India. So what is the problem with using either of them?" he added.
Meanwhile, Congress MP Manickam Tagore has slammed Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur for 'mega mall of hatred' comment. Tagore said that BJP doesn't understand the meaning of "Mohabbat" itself.
"...This is the problem with BJP fellows who always don't understand the meaning of Mohabbat itself. The meaning of Mohabbat means respect and love. Congress and the India Alliance respect all religions, all castes, all communities, all sections of society. Anurag should not give us a lecture on nationalism or on the Mohabbat..." he added.
