IMD Forecast: Heavy Rains To Lash Maharashtra & Goa In Next 5 Days, Red Alert Issued In This State
IMD has forecast moderate to heavy rain in Maharashtra and Goa in the next five days. The Southwest Monsoon will continue to advance, bringing rainfall to several other states.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a weather forecast, indicating that Maharashtra, Goa, and Kerala will likely receive moderate to heavy rain over the next five days. The Southwest Monsoon reached to other parts of Arabian Sea, continued reaching further into the Arabian Sea, remaining parts of Maharashtra and Odisha, and some more parts of Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh.
The IMD also reported that conditions are conducive for the Southwest Monsoon to progress further into additional areas of the North Arabian Sea and Gujarat State, more regions of Madhya Pradesh, the remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar, and parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand over the next 3-4 days.
On Sunday, heavy rainfall also lashed parts of Jammu and Kashmir causing landslides in part of Poonch district.
