Haryana: 3 Independent MLAs Withdraw Support From Nayab Saini Govt, Congress Claims BJP 'Has Lost Majority'

The recent withdrawal of support by independent MLAs from the Saini government in Haryana, reportedly due to their dissatisfaction over not being included in the administration.

New Delhi: Three Independent MLAs in Haryana have dealt a blow to the ruling BJP by withdrawing their support from the Nayab Singh Saini-led government. The three MLAs -- Sombir Sangwan, Randhir Gollen, and Dharampal Gonder -- also said that they have decided to extend support to the Congress during the elections.

They made the announcement at a press conference held in Rohtak in the presence of former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and State Congress chief Udai Bhan, reported PTI.

"We are withdrawing support to the government. We are extending our support to the Congress. We have taken this decision on various issues including those related to farmers," Gonder said.

Talking to ANI, Congress MP Deependra Singh Hooda said that the situation in Haryana is against the BJP and change is definite in the state.

"The situation in the state (Haryana) is against BJP, change is definite in the state. BJP government has lost the majority. Among the list of 48 MLAs they had given, few MLAs have resigned because they are fighting the Lok Sabha election and some independent MLAs withdrew their support to BJP and have extended their support to Congress. So the minority MLAs have no right," Hooda said.

The recent withdrawal of support by independent MLAs from the Saini government in Haryana was reportedly due to their dissatisfaction over not being included in the administration.

Independent MLA Randhir Gollen said, "We were elected as Independent as we honestly extended support to the BJP, but today, inflation and unemployment are at their peak, farmers and labourers are suffering. Seeing all this, we have withdrawn our support," reported PTI.

"Saini should tender his resignation as he does not have the right to stay even for a minute," said Congress party's Udai Bhan.

Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Lashes Out at Congress

Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini strongly reacted to this development and slammed the Congress, saying, "party is just fulfilling some people's wishes and has nothing to do with the public".

"I have received this information. Maybe Congress is engaged in fulfilling some people's wishes now. Congress has nothing to do with the wishes of the public," the Chief Minister said.
