Karni Sena Chief Murder: NIA Conducts Raids At 31 Places In Rajasthan, Haryana

The NIA conducted searches at 31 locations across Rajasthan and Haryana in connection to the murder of Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi.

The National Investigation Agency on Wednesday conducted searches at 31 locations across Rajasthan and Haryana in connection with the murder of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. The Karni Sena chief was shot dead by unidentified assailants at his residence in Jaipur on December 5.

The three assailants first had tea with Gogamedi at his house and then opened fire on him. One of the assailants was killed in retaliatory firing.

Gangster Rohit Godara claimed responsibility for the killing saying that they took the action due to Gogmedi's alleged collaboration with their adversaries.

Following the incident, on December 28, the Rajasthan government demolished the house of one of the accused in the shooting. The civic authorities in Jaipur razed down Rohit Rathore's house in Jaipur's Khatipura area, saying it was constructed illegally.

Two alleged killers in the incident were identified as Rohit Rathore from Jaipur and Nitin Fauji from Haryana's Mahendragarh.

A cash reward of Rs 5 lakh was announced by the police on providing information about them which led to their arrest.

Both the accused were arrested from Chandigarh's Sector 22 during a joint operation launched by the Delhi Police and Rajasthan Police on December 10.

As per reports, the shooters, Nitin Fauji and Rohit Rathore, had gone to Gogamedi's house with another person, Naveen Shekhawat.

Godara is affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. This criminal group faces accusations of orchestrating the assassination of the renowned Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala in May 2022.

Gogamedi was a member of the Shri Rajput Karni Sena, which was founded by the late Lokendra Singh Kalvi in 2006.

The organisation gained widespread attention in 2018 during protests against the film "Padmaavat," featuring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. Karni Sena activists vehemently opposed the film, calling for its ban.
