Police Detain Chinese Nationals With Expired Visas In Greater Noida
Local Intelligence Unit, Gautam Budh Nagar, took all Chinese citizens into custody with the help of local police and sent them to detention centre in Delhi for the deportation process.
New Delhi: Five Chinese nationals were detained by the Gautam Buddh Nagar police in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday upon finding their business visas had expired. According to an ANI report, they worked for a private company and stayed at rented accommodations in the Beta-2 Police Station area of Greater Noida.
The accused possess valid passports and have been identified as civil engineer Wang Zhonghuang, material engineer Guan Zhiwu, accountant Ji Mengqiang, construction safety engineer Jiang Shunyong and civil engineer Hu Yalin.
Local Intelligence Unit, LIU, Gautam Budh Nagar took all Chinese citizens into custody with the help of local police and sent them to Detention Centre in Delhi for deportation process and related investigation.
The arrest comes as an intensive campaign is underway, against illegal activities and foreign nationals living in the country with expired visas. At least 23 foreign nationals have been detained including 4 Chinese, one Korean and 18 African nationals. They have been sent to Gautam Buddh Nagar jail for their involvement in criminal activities.
Over 27 Chinese nationals were found staying illegally in Noida and Greater Noida near Delhi.
According to ANI, Delhi Police, on July 14, detained fourteen Chinese, including 13 male and one female, from Sector 49 police station area in Delhi for allegedly staying in the country illegally since 2020. Delhi Police said that their business visa had expired in 2020, and after trying to apply for a visa extension it was rejected.
