Gautam Gambhir says country comes first, there shouldn't be any cricket match with Pakistan
New Delhi: Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has joined those who think that country comes first and rest everything after that.
He said that the nation comes first and there shouldn't be any cricket match with Pakistan. Cricketer stressed that the lives of soldiers at the border are more important than the game.
In the middle of tension between India and Pakistan, Indian cricketer Gambhir has also raised his views. He strongly stressed that the lives of people of India are more valuable than cricket matches with the neighbour Pakistan.
However, in the IPL League, Gautam Gambhir is captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders team which has Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram its coach.
It will be interesting to see that will Gambhir now put pressure on Shah Rukh Khan, owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders, to remove Wasim Akram as its coach.
It may also be recalled that BCCI president Anurag Thakur has already made it clear that there is no question of any match with Pakistan.
In 2007, last test series between the two countries took place. After 2008 Mumbai attack, cricket series between two neighbours stopped.
In 2012, the Pakistan cricket team came to India to play three one-day matches.
However, during the World Cups both the teams have been continuously fighting for victory.
This year in March, during T-20 world cup, India-Pakistan played matches.
After the Uri attack on 18 September 2016, there has been continuous demand of banning Pakistani artists from Indian film industry.
Uri attack was reported as "the deadliest attack on security forces in Kashmir in two decades".
On Tuesday, director Karan Johar also made it clear that he will not taken any more, artists from Pakistan, in his films.
