Gadchiroli Encounter: Elgar Parishad Accused Maoist Milind Teltumde Killed Along With 25 Naxals
Apart from Milind, Prashant Bose alias Kishan Da, Sheela Marandi alias Hema, amongst others were also killed during the encounter.
New Delhi: Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil on Sunday said that the top Maoist leader Deepak Teltumde alias Milind Teltumde was killed in an encounter in the jungles of Gyarapatti in Gadchiroli district on Saturday.
Apart from Milind, Prashant Bose alias Kishan Da, Sheela Marandi alias Hema, amongst others were also killed during the encounter. As per the police, the encounter took place when the C-60 police commando team was conducting the search operation at Korchi in the Mardintola forest area of the district.
The police force recovered the bodies of 26 slain Maoists including Teltumbde, one of the wanted accused in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist links case with a bounty worth Rs 50 lakh on his head.

"Teltumbde was among the 26 dead Naxals," a senior state police official was quoted by PTI in its report.
Who was Milind Teltumbde?
Milind Teltumbde was accused in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist links case and was absconding for a long time. Activist and scholar Anand Teltumbde's brother Milind Teltumde was involved in carrying aggressive actions against the state. Earlier, Activist Anand Teltumbde was arrested for his alleged role in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist case and is currently locked up at Taloja prison in neighbouring Navi Mumbai.
As per the National Investigative Agency (NIA), Milind was actively involved in organising Camps to train Naxals and give proper guerrilla warfare training to new recruits.
Police also suspected Milind to be involved in carrying out the 2019 IED blast.
