G20 Summit: Key Events At The 2-Day Mega Global Conclave — Check Schedule

PM Narendra Modi exuded confidence that the upcoming G20 Summit would chart a new path in the human-centric and inclusive development.

New Delhi: The G20 Summit is being held under India’s presidency on September 9 and 10 in New Delhi. A day before the mega global conclave, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hold bilateral meetings with his Mauritian and Bangladeshi counterparts Pravind Kumar Jugnauth and Sheikh Hasina respectively, and with US President Joe Biden.

Exuding confidence that the upcoming conclave would chart a new path in the human-centric and inclusive development, PM Modi on Friday tweeted, “I will also be holding bilateral meetings with several leaders and Heads of Delegation to further deepen the bonds of friendship and cooperation. I am confident that our guests will enjoy the warmth of the Indian hospitality. Rashtrapati Ji will be hosting a dinner on 9th September.”

Here's a list of key events before and during the two-day summit:

FRIDAY

U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres to hold a press conference in New Delhi at 6:15 pm

Prime Minister Narendra Modi to hold talks with U.S. President Joe Biden at 7:35 pm.

PM Modi to hold bilateral meetings with his Bangladeshi and Mauritian counterpart Sheikh Haseena and Kumar Jugnauth respectively.

SATURDAY (Day 1 Of G20 Summit)

The global leaders to arrive at the meeting venue Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi and pose for welcome photographs with PM Modi between 9.30 and 10.30 am.

First session followed by a working lunch and bilateral meetings from 10.30 am to 3 pm.

Second session from 3 to 4.45 pm.

Dinner for the leaders and heads of delegation from 7 pm onwards.

SUNDAY (Day 2 Of G20 Summit)

Global leaders to lay wreaths and attend a live performance at Mahatma Gandhi's tomb in New Delhi at 9 am.

Tree-planting ceremony at the summit venue at 10.15 am.

Third session, adoption of declaration between 10.30 am and 12.30 pm.

Press conference by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at 1 pm.

Press conference by Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan at 2 pm.

Closing press conference by Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant at 2 pm.

Press conference by Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at 3 pm.
