Fever grips Delhi: Health Minister Satyendra Jain busy campaigning in Goa
New Delhi: Delhi is shivering from an outbreak of chikungunya, dengue and other viral diseases but Health Minister Satyendra Jain visited Goa to supervise the Aam Aadmi Party's preparations for next year's state elections. When the criticism over the issue rose against Jain, the minister immediately returned to Delhi Tuesday evening.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal left for Bengaluru to undergo a throat surgery while deputy CM Manish Sisodia is in Finland. Transport Minister Gopal Rai is in Chhattigarh. Environment Minister Imran Hussain is a pilgrimage visit to Haj. Only Water Minister Kapil Mishra was present in Delhi before Jain could return. Delhi's Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung is also in the US.
Kejriwal tweeted this morning saying that he is left with no power now in dealing with the outbreak accusing PM Modi of stripping of his and his cabinet's powers .
Chikungunya has so far claimed four lives so far out which two have been reported from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. Chikungunya cases in the national capital have sharply risen to over 1,000 this season, marking a jump of nearly 90 per cent from its count last week. According to a municipal report released on Monday, at least 1,057 cases of this vector-borne disease have been recorded September 10, however, hospitals in the city altogether are reporting much higher number. Doctors say that chikungunya is not a life-threatening disease in general, but in rare cases leads to complications that prove fatal, especially in children and old persons.CM n min left wid no power now, even to buy a pen.
