Farmers' Protest: Fifth Round Of Talks Between Centre & Farm Leaders Today; Bharat Bandh On Dec 8
Farmers' Protest: Government hopes to break the deadlock today so that the massive protest ends at the earliest.
Farmers' Protest: As the farmers’ protest against the contentious farm laws will enter its tenth day of agitation, the Centre will hold the fifth round of talks with their leaders to end the deadlock over the new legislations.

The fourth round of talks on Thursday had no breakthrough and the farmer leaders had said that they would be building pressure on the government for the retraction of the laws. Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Food Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State of Commerce and Industry Som Parkash, who will be present in the meeting, will deliberate on the points that farmer leaders had raised and offer possible solutions.
As per sources, the government has worked out possible solutions to the provisions on which farm leaders have raised objections. It hopes to break the deadlock on Saturday so that the farmers' protest ends at the earliest.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait has threatened that the farmers' agitation would intensify if the government fails to meet the demands.
Bharat Bandh on December 8
A nationwide shutdown has been called on Tuesday, December 8, by the agitating farmer leaders to stage protests against the laws which according to them as “anti-farmers.”
“One-day Bharat Bandh has been called on December 8 to protest against the three farm laws. Tomorrow, we will attend the meeting called by the government,” Farmer leader Rakesh Tikat said on Friday at Ghazipur (Delhi)-Ghaziabad (UP) border.
500 farmers protest in Palwal, block one lane of Delhi-Agra highway
The Delhi-Agra highway was blocked as 500 farmers belonging to the Bundelkhand region reached Palwal in Haryana and started a protest on the national highway. On reaching Palwal, the farmers blocked one lane of the national highway and on Saturday, another lane will be blocked, Sharma warned.
Gurugram police detain group for sitting on Delhi-Jaipur Expressway
Gurugram police have detained a group of people at Kherki Daula toll plaza on the National Highway 48, who were allegedly sitting on the National Highway in support of the ongoing farmers' demonstrations.
