Delhi: Several Traffic Routes Affected, Trains Cancelled As Agitation Enters Seventh Day | Check Details

Delhi Traffic: Akshardham to Noida route has been closed for traffic. Police has asked commuters to avoid that stretch.

Farmers Protest: The ongoing protests of farmers against the contentious farm laws has entered the seventh day on Wednesday, as thousands of farmers continued their sit-in at Delhi-Haryana and Delhi-UP borders. Due to the large scale agitation, rail and road services in and around the national capital have taken a severe blow. Traffic Hit: The Chilla border on Noida link road is closed for traffic due to farmers protests near Gautam Budh Dwar. People are advised to avoid Noida link road for going to Noida and use NH 24 and DND instead for Noida, the Delhi Traffic Police said in an advisory. Tikri border, Jharoda Border, Jhatikra Border are also closed for any traffic movement. Badusarai Border is open only for two-wheeler traffic, Delhi Traffic Police said. Akshardham to Noida route has been closed for traffic. Police has asked commuters to avoid that stretch. Please has also asked to avoid outer ring road from signature bridge to Rohini & vice versa, GTK road, NH 44 & Singhu, Auchandi & Lampur borders. Trains cancelled: Northern Railway has cancelled three trains in the wake of the agitation being conducted by farmers of Punjab. As per an update by the Railways, the 09613 Ajmer-Amritsar express special train journey commencing on December 2 will remain cancelled. As a consequence, the 09612 Amritsar - Ajmer special train commencing on December 3 will also remain cancelled. The Dibrugarh- Amritsar express special train commencing on December 3 will remain cancelled. Cancelled Trains List:
  • The 09613 Ajmer-Amritsar express special train journey commencing on December 2 will remain cancelled. Consequently, the 09612 Amritsar - Ajmer special train commencing on December 3 will also remain cancelled.
  • The 05211 Dibrugarh- Amritsar express special train commencing on December 3 will remain cancelled. Consequently, the 05212 Amritsar - Dibrugarh special train commencing on December 3 will also remain cancelled.
  • The 04998/04997 Bhatinda - Varanasi- Bhatinda express special train will remain cancelled till further order.
Short-Terminated Trains:
  • The 02715 Nanded - Amritsar express commencing on December 2 will be short terminated at New Delhi. The 02925 Bandra Terminus - Amritsar express commencing on December 2 will be short terminated at Chandigarh.
Diverted:                                 
  • The 04650/74 Amritsar - Jaynagar express commencing on December 2 will be diverted to run via Amritsar - Tarntaran - Beas.
  • The 08215 Durg - Jammu Tawi express commencing on December 2 will be diverted to run via Ludhiana Jallandhar Cantt- Pathankot Cantonment.
  • The 08216 Jammu Tawi - Durg express commencing on December 4 will be diverted to run via Pathankot Cantt - Jalandhar Cantt - Ludhiana.
What happened in the meeting on Tuesday: The Central government on Tuesday sought their objections as well as suggestions in writing, even as the talks between the leaders of the farmers' groups and the government held earlier in the day ended inconclusively. The government has asked the farmers to submit the written document on Wednesday, so that it could be taken up for discussion on Thursday.
