Bigg Boss 16 fame Archana Gautam and her father were allegedly manhandled outside the Congress office in Delhi on Friday. Gautam, who joined Congress in 2021, visited the party office to congratulate party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Congress National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on the passage of the women's reservation bill in Parliament. A video of the incident surfaced on social media, where Archana was seen surrounded by people who were shouting at her.
Whatever propoganda Congress tries to create to portray Rahul Gandhi as a leader, the real Congress party culture has come out in open with the treatment Archana Gautam and her father got from their own Congress workers. ’ लड़की हूं लड़ सकती हूं ’ की खुले आम धज्जियां उड़ गईं.… pic.twitter.com/Fon1WNj61u

The incident drew a sharp reaction from the Bharatiya Janata Party. BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla took a swipe at Priyanka Gandhi and said, “Women in Congress are asking Priyanka, Ladki hoon to kya in ladkon se bach sakti hoon”.
Earlier in March, Archana Gautam’s father filed an FIR against Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s personal assistant alleging that his daughter was threatened with death. Based on the complaint, Sandeep Singh was booked under Indian Penal Code sections 504 (intentional insult), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult modesty of a woman), Meerut Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rohit Singh Sajwan said, as reported by PTI.
He was also charged under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, the SSP said. He added that the case has been registered at the Partapur police station. In his complaint, Gautam Buddha said Singh had called his daughter to Raipur in Chhattisgarh during the party’s plenary session last month saying Priyanka Gandhi wanted to meet her, PTI reported. There he misbehaved with her and also “threatened with death”, he claimed in his complaint.
