This is not the first such incident in north-west Delhi’s Jahangirpuri. A month back, three people were arrested and two minors were apprehended for their alleged involvement in an incident of stone pelting, in which three vehicles were damaged, according to reports.
According to police, there was no communal angle to the incident. CCTV footage from the area showed a few youths on the streets, hurling stones at houses and vehicles. They could also be seen throwing stones at youths hiding behind parked cars.
Police said the incident took place over an argument between two groups and no injury was reported.
Before that, Jahangirpuri had also witnessed communal clashes on April 16 during a Hanuman Jayanti procession, in which nine people, including eight policemen were injured.
