PM Modi Congratulates AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal On Thumping Win In Delhi Polls

Arvind Kejriwal was quick in his response to PM Modi's congratulatory message on AAP's thumping win in Delhi Polls and thanked him for the same. Kejriwal said that he is looking forward to working closely with Centre to make the national capital into "world-class city.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal for his party's thumping win in the Delhi assembly polls and wished him "the very best" in fulfilling the aspirations of the people of the state. The Delhi CM was quick in his response to PM Modi's congratulatory message and thanked him for the same. Kejriwal said that he is looking forward to working closely with Centre to make the national capital into "world-class city.
"Congratulations to AAP and shri @ArvindKejriwal ji for the victory in the Delhi assembly elections. Wishing them the very best in fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Delhi," the prime minister wrote on Twitter.
The Aam Aadmi Party is all set to romp home to power in Delhi for a third successive term, with the party leading in 62 of the total 70 seats, while the BJP was a distant second leading in 8 seats and the Indian National Congress fairing dismally in drawing a blank, according to the latest result trends on the Delhi polls. The AAP in 2015 registered a landslide victory by winning 67 out of the 70 seats and Congress drew blank, with BJP bagging 3 seats. The elections to the Delhi Legislative Assembly were held on February 8.
