Delhi Police To Get Covid-19 Vaccine Shots Soon, Personnel To Get Info Via SMS - Check Details

The capital police on Saturday issued a notification to all special commissioners, joint commissioners, and DCPs, the force informed top officials that each police personnel will be intimated about the date, time, and place of vaccination by text messages to their registered mobile phone numbers.

New Delhi: According to a notification released, the Delhi Police will soon begin the vaccination drive for its personnel against the Covid-19 disease. The national capital police on Saturday issued a notification to all special commissioners, joint commissioners, and DCPs, the force informed top officials that each police personnel will be intimated about the date, time, and place of vaccination by text messages to their registered mobile phone numbers. The date, time, and place of vaccination for each police personnel will be intimated to him/her on their mobile number by SMS," said Muktesh Chander, nodal officer for the Covid-19 action plan. "Therefore, it is important that the mobile number of all police personnel is entered and updated in the Personnel Information System (PIS) on IntraDP system," the notification said. The district/unit chiefs are expected to complete this exercise by January 3 in order to ensure that no personnel is left out of the vaccination program. "A list of personnel whose mobile numbers are not available in PIS system will be intimated by DCP/IT through e-mail to all concerned,” Chander further added in his notification. As per the latest reports, the coronavirus pandemic has claimed the lives of 31 personnel of the national capital’s police department. "There are a total of 51 lakh priority category persons in Delhi -- three lakh health workers, six lakh frontline workers, and 42 lakh of those aged above 50 and those below 50 but having co-morbidities," Chief Minister Kejriwal said during the virtual address. Kejriwal also said that each person will be administered two doses of the vaccine. According to reports, the Delhi government will inform vaccine recipients about the time, date, and place of their vaccination through SMS.
