Delhi Elections 2020: AAP Announces Names Of 70 Candidates, 15 Sitting MLAs Axed; Full List Here
While the Congress is trying to regain the chair over which it had control for 15 years, the AAP is trying to retain the power which it got after defeating the Congress. The BJP too is trying very hard to come back to power after not being in power since 1998 in Delhi.
New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday released its list of candidates for all 70 seats, weeks ahead of the much crucial Delhi Assembly Elections. After concluding a high-end Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence, the party released it candidates list. While speaking to reporters, Delhi's deputy CM Manish Sisodia informed that party has added many new faces in the candidate list, with eight women candidates.
Sisodia also said that in the aftermath of performances, the party has axed candidature of as many as 15 sitting MLAs for the upcoming polls to be held next months.
Kejriwal will contest from the New Delhi Assembly seat while his deputy Manish Sisodia from the Patparganj Assembly seat, the party said. Sisodia also said that AAP has evaluated the performance of its sitting MLAs, ahead of redistributing the tickets for the upcoming polls.
According to the list, Atishi Marlena is will contest the Assembly polls from Kalkaji seat whereas as Raghav Chadha will fight from Rajinder Nagar seat. S0mnath Bharti will contest from Malviya Nagar seat and Amanatullah Khan will contend from Okhla seat.
The list also states that Saurabh Bhardwaj has been seated from Greater Kailash constituency whereas Abdul Rehman will contest from Seelampur seat.

Jai Bhagwan replaces Ramchandra from Bawana
Dharampal to fight from Mundka, Sukhbir Dalal loses ticket.
Mukesh Kumar will contest from Sultanpur Majra, Sandeep Kumar misses out.
Shoaib Iqbal gets a ticket from Matia Mahal, Aseem Ahmed loses out.
Prahlad Sahni replaces Alka Lamba from Chandni Chowk.
Kejriwal's close aide Durgesh Pathak will contest from Karawal Nagar.

In the 2015 polls, while the AAP bagged 67 of 70 seats, the BJP got the remaining three. The AAP has disqualified five of its MLAs since August 2019 from the Delhi Assembly.
While Anil Kumar Bajpai, Devinder Sehrawat and Kapil Mishra were disqualified for their association with the BJP, Sandeep Kumar was disqualified for having connections with BSP and Alka Lamba was disqualified after she joined the Congress.
The elections are crucial for all three major parties -- AAP, BJP and the Congress. While the Congress is trying to regain Delhi which it ruled for 15 years, AAP is trying to retain power which it got after ousting the Congress.
The BJP too is trying very hard to come back to power after being in the cold since 1998 in Delhi. While the AAP is using Kejriwal's face for the post of Chief Minister, the BJP and Congress are yet to reveal their chief ministerial faces. Delhi Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Ranbir Singh had earlier said that there were a total of 1,46,92,136 voters — 80,55,686 males, 66,35,635 females and 815 belonging to third gender — in the final voters list. The last date to file nomination is January 21, the scrutiny will happen on January 22 while the last date of withdrawal of candidature will be January 24.
