Delhi: Five Arrested For Duping Over 27,000 People With Fake Govt Job Offer In Name Of Union Health Ministry

Five persons allegedly duped 27,000 people promising them government jobs through a fake government website in the name of Union Health & Family Welfare Ministry.

Delhi Police cyber crime cell on Thursday busted a job scam and arrested at least five persons for allegedly duping more than 27,000 people on the pretext of promising them government jobs through a fake government website in the name of the Union Health & Family Welfare Ministry. ALSO READ | Republic TV Editor Arnab Goswami Sent To Judicial Custody Till Nov 18 In Suicide Case Addressing the media on Thursday afternoon, Delhi Police Cyber Crime Cell (CyPAD) DCP Anyesh Roy said, "Gang made fake government website under Health & Family Welfare ministry offering over 13,000 jobs." A bank account with Rs 49 lakh has been seized and frozen, three laptops and seven phones have been recovered from the accused who had duped an estimated over 27,000 people, raking in over Rs 1.09 crore from October 1 this year" DCP Anyesh Roy added, as quoted by news agency ANI.
The scam came to the lights after a job aspirant lodged a complaint stating that he had been cheated by a fake website floated in the name of "Swastha Avm Jan Kanyan Sansthan, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare". According to the reports, the complainant had applied for various job openings and had paid online fees believing it to be a genuine website offering government jobs. On the basis of technical investigation, the police nabbed the masterminds accused of operating the fake website from Hisar in Haryana.
