Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, His Family Get First Dose Of Covid-19 Vaccine At Lok Nayak Hospital

The Delhi Chief Minister, who was vaccinated along with his parents Govind Ram Kejriwal and Gita Devi, also urged the people to come forward and get vaccinated while asserting there is nothing to fear.

New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Keriwal got himself inoculated on Thursday with Serum Institute-produced covishield vaccine at the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) hospital in the national capital.

The Delhi Chief Minister, who was vaccinated along with his parents Govind Ram Kejriwal and Gita Devi, also urged the people to come forward and get vaccinated while asserting there is nothing to fear.

“The vaccine is now available to get rid of the coronavirus. I and my parents got vaccinated today at the LNJP hospital. We had no problems. I appeal to the people of Delhi and everyone eligible for the vaccine to come forward and get themselves vaccinated,” Kejriwal tweeted.

The Delhi Chief Minister also lauded the doctors and hospital staff for making adequate arrangements.

President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh besides other central ministers earlier got themselves inoculated against the coronavirus.

The second phase of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from March 1 for those over 60 years of age and for the people aged 45 and above with specified co-morbid conditions.

The countrywide vaccination drive was rolled out earlier on January 16 this year and vaccination of the Frontline Workers (FLWs) started from February 2.

Over one crore 66 lakh 16 thousand doses of COVID-19 vaccines have so far been administered to the beneficiaries in the country.
