Delhi: Class 9 student allegedly beaten to death by shopkeeper
NEW DELHI: A class 9th student was allegedly beaten to death by a shopkeeper in Delhi's Mayur Vihar on Wednesday.
According to reports, Rajat, 14, had a scuffle with a shopkeeper on his way back from a tution class, who brutally assaulted him on Wednesday evening.
Rajat was taken to the Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital where he was declared brought dead.
"My son, along with his friends, went towards market at around 4:30 pm. Where he and his friends were assaulted at a nearby park by a pan vendor. His friends, though, managed to escape while Rajat was thrashed brutally by the shopkeeper," Rajat's father, Unnikrishnan, said.
Police have registered the case and an investigation has been initiated.
