India Reports Over 42K Coronavirus Cases In Last 24 Hrs As Kerala Witnesses Marginal Dip
India has registered 34,763 recoveries in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate stands at 97.51%.
Coronavirus Update: India reported 42,909 new Covid 19 cases and 34,763 recoveries in the last 24 hours, taking total recoveries to 3,19,23,405 and active caseload to 3,76,324.
India registered 380 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total death toll to 4,38,210, according to the Union Health Ministry.
The country has vaccinated 63.43 crore people.
The active cases account for 1.15% of the total cases. The country's recovery rate is currently at 97.51%
Kerala
Kerala detected 29,836 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, after reporting over 30,000 infections for four straight days, as per data by the state health department. This has taken the cumulative caseload to 40,07,408.
In addition to this, 75 more people succumbed to the virus, taking the death toll due to Covid in Kerala to 20,541.
As many as 22,088 people have been cured of the infection since Saturday, taking the total recoveries to 37,73,754 and the number of active cases to 2,12,566.
The test positivity rate is at 19.67% as 1,51,670 samples were tested in 24 hours. So far, 3,12,75,313 crore samples have been tested.
Maharashtra
Maharashtra’s surge in Coronavirus cases continued on Sunday, with the State reporting 4,666 new ones against 3,301 patients being discharged. The active case tally rose to 52,844.
As many as 131 deaths pushed the State’s cumulative fatalities to 1,37,157. The case fatality rate rose to 2.12%.
The total number of cases has reached 64,56,939 while its cumulative recoveries have risen to 62,63,416 with the recovery rate standing at 97%.
