India Registers Decline In Covid Cases. Records 32K New Infections, 417 Fatalities In Last 24 Hrs
India's active caseload stands at 3,81,947. In the last 24 hours, active cases declined by 3,389.
Corona Update: India registered 32,937 fresh Covid-19 cases and 417 fatalities due to the infection in the last 24 hours, according to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry.
The top five states which have registered maximum cases are Kerala with 18,582 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 4,797 cases, Tamil Nadu with 1,896 cases, Andhra Pradesh with 1,506 cases, and Karnataka with 1,431 cases.
A total of 35,909 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, pushing the total recoveries to 3,14,11,924 across the country.
Kerala
Kerala has so far recorded nearly 3.67 million cases and 18,601 deaths due to Covid-19. On Sunday, the state saw another high of 18,582 new cases, while 102 patients succumbed to Covid-19.
Nearly 21,000 patients were discharged on Sunday, which took the cumulative count of recoveries to 3,492,367 while the active cases stood at 178,630, according to the health department’s bulletin. As many as 122,970 samples were tested for Covid-19 on Sunday and the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 15.11 per cent.
Maharashtra
Maharashtra on Sunday reported 4,797 new coronavirus positive cases and 130 fatalities while 3,710 patients recovered, the state health department said. With the new additions, the tally of cases in Maharashtra reached 63,92,660 and the death toll to 1,35,039, it said.
A total of 61,89,933 patients have recovered from coronavirus infection in Maharashtra so far, leaving the state with 64,219 active cases. Mumbai reported 262 cases during the day and 4 deaths, taking the tally to 7,39,331 and the toll to 15,981. The Mumbai division saw 699 fresh infections and 12 deaths, raising the total to 16,52,731 and the number of fatalities to 34,724, the department said.
