Congress MP BK Hariprasad mocks BJP Chief Amit Shah’s illness, calls it ‘suar ka zukam’

The statement by Hariprasad comes a day after the Congress-JDS in Karnataka were able to successfully corral its MLAs ensuring they do not switch sides to BJP.

New Delhi: In an insensitive statement, Congress’ Member of Parliament BK Hariprasad on Thursday mocked Bharatiya Janta Party Chief Amit Shah’s current health condition, calling it ‘suar ka zukam (cold because of pigs)’. This comes a day after Amit Shah was diagnosed with Swine Flu on Wednesday for which he is currently admitted in AIIMS. The above statements were made by Congress MP BK Hariprasad while addressing a public gathering. On being confronted by ABP News, the MP didn’t relent and stood by his statement, saying "don't regret anything I said." The Congress leader didn’t stop there, he further said that if Amit Shah doesn’t stop ‘touching JDU-Congress’ MLAs, his health condition would deteriorate. "People will curse him and he will become even more sick if he tries to lay his hands on our Karnataka government." Justifying and standing by his callous comments, Hariprasad said, "I am using the same language what BJP has used." When asked whether he wishes to wish the BJP chief speedy recovery, the Congress leader said,"He is AIIMS and will recover." BJP leader Prem Shukla in a telephonic conversation with ABP News condemned what Hariprasad said. ” It is very shocking to see the Congress stoop so low.” Hariprasad had alleged that PM Narendra Modi and the BJP has uses similar words when Sonia Gandhi was unwell and was accused of spending hundreds of crores for her medical treatment. To this Shukla said, “it is wrong to say the prime minister made such comments." The statement by Hariprasad comes a day after the Congress-JDS in Karnataka were able to successfully corral its MLAs ensuring they do not switch sides to BJP. Alliance partners Congress and JD-S claimed that BJP's 'Operation Lotus' has failed. Both CMH.D. Kumaraswamy and Deputy CM G. Parameshwara claimed that the JD(S)-Congress coalition is safe and that they had the requisite numbers. (WATCH COMPLETE REPORT BELOW) ABP NEWS is a free to air channel.
