New Delhi: Delivering yet another setback to Chinese companies, India decided to ban 47 more Chinese apps on Monday, sources have claimed. The move comes almost a month after the Indian government banned 59 Chinese apps including popular ones like TikTok, WeChat and UC Browser which had a huge user base in India. Meanwhile it is also being reported that the government has readied a list of over 200 firms which are under its scanner. These include the likes of Alibaba, PUBG, Tencent games and others, India Today reported citing sources. PUBG which has a vast fanbase in the south Asian region, including India and Pakistan is one of the most loved games of current times. However, due to reports of its craze spiking to harmful extents, Pakistan decided to imposed a ban on it. PUBG was banned in Pakistan earlier this month as cases of suicides were reported wherein the reason cited was a failure in completing tasks on the viral gaming app. The PTA had issued a statement revealing that it received complaints about the game being too addictive, a waste of time and having a potentially negative impact on children's physical and psychological health. Watch here: India's previous app ban: Towards the end of June, the Indian government banned 59 Chinese apps including TikTok, WeChat and UC Browser and Xiaomi's Mi Community . The step was taken over national security concerns as India-China bilateral relations nosedived after the death of 20 Indian soldiers in the Galwan Valley clash with Chinese PLA troops in eastern Ladakh. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) had issued a list of 59 Chinese apps that are now banned in the country including Club Factory, SHAREit, Likee, Mi Video Call (Xiaomi), Weibo, Baidu, Bigo Live and more. The move came after growing chorus around the country demanding a boycott of Chinese products in the wake of the fatal Galwan Valley clash.
