NEW DELHI: A new video of Bulandshahr violence has emerged on Wednesday showing Sumit Kumar, the youth killed during the mob attack, among the stone pelters who clashed with police over reports of alleged cattle slaughter on Monday. The incident claimed two lives. In the clip, Sumit can be seen with the hostile mob, which attack the police. He was carrying a stone in his hand. It comes a day after the youth's family demanded that his name should be removed from an FIR filed by police in the case and a counter FIR be filed for his murder. Sumit was listed as accused number 16 in the second FIR in the case. Sumit's family had claimed he had gone to a bus stand near the incident site to drop a friend when he got caught up in the violence and suffered gunshot injury. Sumit, 20, died of bullet injuries during the violence that broke out after cow carcasses were found strewn in a jungle near his Chingrawathi village in Bulandshahr's Siana tehsil on Monday in which a police inspector, Subodh Kumar, was also killed. On Tuesday, Sumit's family initially refused to conduct his last rites until the government assured Rs 50 lakh compensation, pension to his parents and a police job to his kin besides similar cremation honours as given to Inspector Subodh Kumar.

They agreed to perform the last rites after local administration announced a compensation of Rs five lakh at its level and local MP Bhola Singh and MLA Devendra Singh Lodhi assured them of taking up their demands with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The government has formed a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the violence, the circumstances leading to it and to identify the people and groups involved.
