SC To Hear On Friday EC's Application In Electoral Bonds Case
The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on Friday an application filed by the Election Commission seeking modification of the operative portion of its March 11 order in the electoral bonds case.
The poll panel said the order had noted that copies of the documents submitted by it to the apex court in sealed cover during the course of hearing be maintained at the office of the Election Commission. The EC said it did not keep any copy of the documents and added that they may be returned so that it can comply with the court directions.
In the electoral bonds case, the apex court had on March 11 directed the State Bank of India (SBI to disclose the details of the bonds to the EC by close of business hours on March 12.
In its fresh application, the poll panel has said the apex court had observed in its March 11 order that "copies of the statements which were filed by the ECI before this court would be maintained in the office of the ECI".
Delhi Court To Resume Hearing Kejriwal’s Plea Challenging Summons On ED Complaints On Friday
A Delhi sessions court will resume hearing on Friday arguments on an application filed by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal challenging a lower court's summons to him on two complaints filed by the ED for evading its summonses in a money laundering case related to the alleged excise scam.
Additional Sessions Judge Rakesh Syal on Thursday heard the arguments of the advocates representing Kejriwal and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on the first order by which a magisterial court had on February 7 summoned the politician for February 17.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Divya Malhotra had, however, granted Kejriwal exemption from personal appearance before it on February 17 after he appeared through video conference and directed him to appear before it on March 16.
The sessions judge will hear on Friday the arguments on Kejriwal’s plea against ACMM’s second order dated March 7 by which Kejriwal was summoned for March 16.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said, "The institution of the country whether it is ED, Election Commission of India or CBI, now they are not the institution of the country but the weapons of BJP and RSS. Kavitha, a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) from the BRS party and the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister KCR, has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a liquor scam case in Delhi.
