Breaking News LIVE Updates September 17, 2021: In a highly tragic incident, a portion of under-construction flyover connecting BKC main road & Santa Cruz–Chembur Link Road in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex, collapsed around 4:30 am on Friday morning. At least 13 people sustained minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital. DCP (Zone 8) Manjunath Singe informed that there is no life loss and no person is missing.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday inaugurated or laid foundation stones of 34 road projects worth Rs 9,577 crore in Madhya Pradesh and said more such projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore will be sanctioned by the Centre for the state in the coming days. I have sanctioned Rs 1.50 lakh crore for roads projects in MP so far. I am going to sanction Rs 1 lakh crore more for road projects in the coming days, he said at a function. I ran a vehicle at a speed of 160km per hour on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, the minister added.
Govt Once Again Extends PAN-Aadhaar Linkage Deadline Till March 2022
The government on Friday extended by six months till March 2022 the deadline to link PAN with biometric ID Aadhaar.
In a statement, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said to address the hardship being faced by various stakeholders on account of the COVID-19 pandemic, the timeline has been extended which will ease compliance.
"Time limit for intimation of Aadhaar number to the Income tax Department for linking of PAN with Aadhaar has been extended from 30th September, 2021 to 31st March, 2022," it said.
Extension Only For Medicines Which Were Given Exemption Earlier
Concessional GST On Covid Medicines Extended!
"Concessional GST rates on COVID-19 related medicines were announced earlier, applicable till Sep 30. The concessions have now been extended till Dec 31, 2021," Sitharaman said.
"There are some life-saving drugs not connected with Covid-19 but are very expensive, for which exemptions are being given. There wouldn't be GST on them - Zolgngelsma and Viltepso costing around Rs. 16 crore will now be exempted from GST," Sitharaman announced.
