BJP raked up Kairana exodus to instigate communal riots: Mayawati

NEW DELHI: Bhaujan Samaj Party Supremo Mayawati today hit out at BJP over the alleged migration of Hindus from Kairana town in Shamli district, alleging that the party raked up Kairana exodus issue for instigating communal tension. "Kairana incident was raked by the BJP as a part of conspiracy to divert people's attention from its defeat in RS and Council polls in UP and to gain political mileage," Mayawati said. BSP chief also alleged that the BJP wanted to instigate riots in Uttar Pradesh . ALSO READ: BJP spreading lies on Hindus being driven out of Kairana, says UP CM  "It seems that BJP wanted to instigate communal tension in Western Uttar Pradesh to gain political mileage but it failed miserably as the media has debunked the myth of Kairana exodus," she added. "Our party and all the peace loving people of Uttar Pradesh would like to thank the media for their role otherwise communal tension could have spread across Western Uttar Pradesh due to BJP's false propaganda," Mayawati said while addressing the media. Earlier, RLD chief Ajit Singh had also alleged that the BJP only wants to instigate riots and it does not have any policy of development. ALSO READ: Sushma Swaraj's epic response to a man who wanted his refrigerator fixed "They (BJP) never want Hindus and Muslims to unite, that is why they practice the politics of making them fight against each other," Singh alleged while addressing an RLD gathering here. Holding the ruling BJP responsible for the migration of Hindus in Kairana, he claimed the statistics provided by BJP MP Hukum Singh is "false" and that Muslims have also migrated from the village.
