BJP MP Sadhvi Pragya Thakur Refers To Mahatma Gandhi's Assassin Godse As 'Deshbhakt'

Nathuram Godse has been termed by the BJP MP Sadhvi Pragya Thakur as “Deshbhakt”. She even said it once in the Parliament, for which she apologised later.

Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Bhopal and Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya Thakur has again hit the headlines for her statements. In her latest verbal volley, she inferred Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse as “a patriot”. Sadhvi was responding to the comments made by Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Twitter, where he had asked those who praise Godse to "have some shame". “Dekho aisa hai, Congress ne deshbhakto ko humesha se gaaliyaan di hain...bhagwa aatank tak keh diya usne, issey zyada nikrisht’ta kya hogi (Congress has always abused patriots. They have even called it ‘saffron terrorism’. How worse can it get?),” Sadhvi responded when asked about Congress party calling Godse “India’s first terrorist”. This is not the first time Nathuram Godse has been praised by the BJP MP from Bhopal. She had once praised Godse in the Parliament for which she apologised later for ‘hurting sentiments’.
