BJP chief Amit Shah rules out resumption of Indo-Pak bilateral cricket ties

Mumbai: BJP chief Amit Shah on Saturday ruled out resumption of bilateral cricket ties between India and Pakistan anytime soon. However, Shah said the two countries would face each other in international tournaments abroad. "India and Pakistan will continue to play at international tournaments but neither India plays in Pakistan nor Pakistan plays in India," Shah said a day ahead of the dream finale between the arch rivals in the Champions Trophy final in England. His comments come at a time militant attacks in Jammu and Kashmir with 6 policemen being brutally killed in Anantnag on Friday. An Indian soldier named Naik Bakhtawar Singh was also killed in unprovoked firing by Pakistan on Friday in Jammu & Kashmir’s Nowshera sector. India last visited Pakistan in mid 2008 for the Asia Cup. The last bilateral series there, however, was way back in January-February 2006. India were supposed to play away against Pakistan in 2015 were scheduled to host them in 2017. In 2015, the BCCI had offered PCB a series at home, which the PCB declined. India in turn refused to play Pakistan's home series at a neutral venue without specifying any reasons.
