ABP News Opinion Poll: 60% Feel BJP & JDU May Get Into Tussle Over CM Seat; Here's Why
60.9 per cent of the people feel that there may come a conflict on the CM’s seat, if the ruling party at the center bags more seat than JDU.
Patna: In a survey conducted by the ABP news and C-Voter days ahead of the upcoming assembly elections of Bihar, 60 per cent of the people think that if Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) bags more seats than the Janta Dal United (JDU) in the polls, there may be a tussle over the Chief Minister’s chair. According to the survey conducted, 60.9 per cent of the people feel that there may come a conflict on the CM’s seat, if the ruling party at the center bags more seat than JDU. While 39.1 per cent of the people denounce the statement.
As per the survey in which 30,000 people participated, Nitish Kumar led NDA may bag around 135-159 seats in the 243-seat assembly, much more than the golden number. As predicted by the survey the NDA in the state will garner around 43 per cent of the vote share.
Out of the 43 per cent votes, it is predicted that the saffron party may get around 22 per cent plus 2 per cent of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), while the JDU will stand at 18 per cent of the vote share. With the upcoming elections BJP-JDU devised the seat sharing formula, of 122 seats for JDU which will be accommodating former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi led Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and 121 for BJP which will be accommodating VIP.
The chemistry of JDU-BJP has always been victorious in the state, up until 2014, when Nitish Kumar left the NDA citing differences with PM Narendra Modi. Though he managed to get through the 2015 assembly elections with help of his rival-turned-ally and now again rival, Lalu Prasad Yadav. JDU just bagged 69 seats and RJD 73, Nitish Kumar was made the CM and Tejaswi Yadav his deputy. In 2017, Nitish Kumar resigned from his and came back with support of BJP.

The speculation on BJP’s tussle may also get air with Chirag Paswan’s support to the party. As 42.7 per cent of the voters think NDA in Bihar is BJP+LJP, while the rest 57.3 per cent think JDU+BJP form the NDA in Bihar. As the survey predicts, LJP may just secure between 1-5 seats, bagging just a few percent of the votes making it a bumpy ride for LJP’s chief.
Chirag Paswan walked out of the NDA after citing differences with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The two times Lok Sabha MP is contesting on 143 assembly seats and is fighting majorly against JDU.
While the ruling party at the center calls him “Vote Katua” but the LJP chief never misses an opportunity to display his fondness, admiration and faith towards the PM and his relations with the NDA at the center. Paswan calls him the kingmaker and asserts that post elections LJP will make BJP leader, the CM of Bihar.
