Expelled Youth Congress Leader Seek's 'Nyay' As Rahul's Yatra Enters Assam

Expelled youth Congress leader who accused youth wing chief Srinivas BV of harassment, staged a protest as the 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' entered Assam.

Former Youth Congress leader Angkita Dutta who accused Indian Youth Congress leader Srinivas BV of harassment held a protest in Assam's Sivasagar as the 'Bharat jodo Nyay Yatra' entered the state. She said, "I was expelled (from the party) because I sought justice against an oppressor... As Rahul ji has come to Assam, I believe he will give me and the women Nyay."

The yatra led by Rahul Gandhi entered Assam through Haluwating in Sivasagar district from Nagaland on Thursday. The third day of the yatra started with Gandhi in a bus from Tuli in Nagaland.

Rahul Gandhi was greeted by party workers upon arrival in Haluwating, where the national flag was handed over to Assam Congress leaders for the eight-day journey in the state.

The 6,713-km-long march is being looked upon as a key move by the party to consolidate support ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. The yatra started with focus on Manipur and resumed from the strife-torn state after initial hiccups of the venue from where the yatra was supposed to start, it will culminate on March 20 in Mumbai.

The Assam leg of the march will continue till January 25. The 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' is slated to coveri 110 districts in 15 states.
