Ballabhgarh Murder Row: After Yogi Govt, Now Haryana Considers Law Against 'Love Jihad'
Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij in a tweet on Sunday said, "a law against love jihad is being considered in Haryana."
Amid the massive outrage in the sensational Ballabhgarh murder case, the Haryana government has announced to soon bring in strict law to curb 'Love Jihad' incidents in the state. State Home Minister Anil Vij in a tweet on Sunday said, "A law against love jihad is being considered in Haryana." His statement has come just a day after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister on Saturday issued a stern warning against ‘love jihad’ and stated that his government in the state is working to bring a strict law to curb such incidents.
'Love jihad', a term used to accuse Muslim men/families of forcing Hindu women to convert to Islam by marriage.
While addressing a rally for the November 3 byelections for the Malhani assembly seat in Jaunpur and that of Deoria, Adityanath said, "If the people do not stop playing with honours of daughters and sisters by concealing their identities, the Ram Naam Satya journey will start".
The BJP firebrand leader referred to a High Court verdict which stated that the conversion should not be resorted to solely for the marriage and it should not be given validity.

Last week, a 21-year-old B.Com final year student Nikita was shot dead in a brazen act after appearing for an exam. The family members of the girl have alleged that accused Touseef pressurized her to convert to Islam and upon denying, he tried to abduct her. On being unable to capture her, he shot her dead.
According to the reports, Tausif, and his aide Rehan had been arrested a few days ago.
