Blogger Gaurav Wasan's Response To Allegations Of Siphoning Off 'Baba Ka Dhaba' Owner's Money

Kanta Prasad, popularly called the ‘Baba’ of the viral “Baba Ka Dhaba” eatery has alleged YouTuber Gaurav Wasan who first shot his video and posted it on social media, of misappropriation of funds that he raised to help his wife and him.

Baba Ka Dhaba Latest News: Kanta Prasad, popularly called the ‘Baba’ of the viral “Baba Ka Dhaba” eatery in Delhi's Malviya Nagar, has alleged YouTuber Gaurav Wasan of misappropriation of funds that was raised to help the couple. Notably, Wasan is the same influencer who first shot his video and posted it on social media and raised funds for him. Prasad has alleged cheating, mischief, criminal breach of trust, criminal conspiracy by Wasan. The 80-year-old couple had shot to fame after Wasan posted a video of him in which he was seen weeping over how his business (the Baba Ka Dhaba eatery) had gone cold during lockdown. The video was shared and reshared massively and a huge footfall was witnessed the very next day at his food stall.  Ironically, Prasad's despair had come to light when Wasan captured the eatery owner breaking down as he talked about his struggles in a video shared on the YouTuber's social media account.

What is the complaint against YouTuber Gaurav Wasan?

Kanta Prasad has told police that Wasan shot his video and posted it online and convinced the public on social media to donate money to the eatery owner.  He has futher alleged that Wasan "intentionally and deliberately shared only his and his family/friends bank details and mobile numbers with the donors and collected huge amount of donation through different mode of payments i.e bank account/wallets without providing any information to the complainant". The owner of the food joint also accused the YouTuber of not providing details of the financial transactions to him. Responding to the allegations, Wasan said he has given proof of transactions to the public. " Whatever money came to my account I gave it to Baba including from my own earnings."
