As BJP's Fight In West Bengal Intensifies, CM Mamata Plans 600 Rallies For TMC's 'Save Bengal' Campaign

The faceoff between TMC and BJP ahead of West Bengal has already been rather intense and in fresh development, CM Mamata Banerjee has decided to conduct 600 rallies for TMC's ‘Save Bengal from the BJP’ campaign.

Kolkata: As Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ramps up its attack against the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has decided to organise 600 back-to-back rallies across the state from November 22. ALSO READ | Tamil Nadu: VK Sasikala Pays Rs 10 Cr Fine In Court; Ex-AIADMK Leader Likely To Be Released By Jan 2021 Under the banner of ‘Save Bengal from the BJP’, the motive clearly is to retaliate against the saffron party ahead of the 2021 assembly polls. The 600 rallies will cover all the 294 assembly seats and following it, there will be leaflet distribution, public meetings, and community radio campaigning to highlight TMC’s achievements in multiple languages. The languages for campaign material include Nepali, Santhali (in Ol Chiki script), Telugu, Bengali, English, Hindi, Rajbonshi, and more to woo voters across different sections. As informed by TMC, each of the 294 assembly seats will have at least two rallies starting from November 22. The party has decided to begin its ‘Save Bengal from the BJP' rallies in West Midnapore, Purulia, Jhargram and Bankura. These districts come under the Jangalmahal belt which is dominated by tribal groups and scheduled caste people. In Bengal, the SC population is nearly 23.51 percent and the ST population is 5.85 percent. State BJP president Dilip Ghosh revealed that both senior BJP leaders will visit the state separately every month to review the party's work and organistion ahead of the polls. Senior BJP leaders Sunil Deodhar, Vinod Tawde, Dushyant Gautam, Harish Dwivedi and Vinod Sonkar have been chosen by senior members for campaigns in the North Bengal, Rarh Banga (south-western districts), Nabadwip, Midnapore and Kolkata organisational zones.
