Another 'Atrocity' Against J&K Residents: Mehbooba Mufti On Ban On FAT Affiliate Schools
The Jammu and Kashmir school education department has stopped over than 300 educational institutions run by the FAT from operating, news agency Press Trust of India (PTI) reported.
New Delhi: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supremo Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday said the ban on schools run by the Falah-e-Aam Trust (FAT), an affiliate of banned Jamaat-e-Islami, is “another form of atrocity” inflicted on the people of Jammu and Kashmir to “sabotage” their future. Mehbooba said the last “target” is education after land ownership, resources and jobs.
“Move to ban FAT affiliated schools is another form of atrocity inflicted on people of J&K to sabotage their future. After land ownership, resources & jobs the last target is education. I am sure Kashmiris will overcome this & not let their children suffer,” she tweeted.

School Education Secretary B.K. Singh issued an order to this effect earlier on June 13.
The chief education officers of various districts, as per the order issued by School Education Secretary, have been asked to seal the schools run by the FAT within 15 days in consultation with the district administration.
The order, which came in the backdrop of investigations done by the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s State Investigation Agency, said all the students studying in these banned institutions shall admit themselves to the nearby government schools for the current academic session.
The State Investigation Agency has, as per the news agency, alleged gross illegalities, outright frauds and mass-scale encroachment of government lands by the FAT.
