Amid Covid-19 Crisis, 127 Young Soldiers Inducted Into Ladakh Scouts

The attestation parade with appropriate social distancing in consonance with the highest traditions of the Indian Army was reviewed by Col Rinchen Dorje, Commandant, LSRC.

Leh: An Attestation Parade was held today at The Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre(LSRC), Leh to mark the entry of 127 well trained recruits into the Ladakh Scouts Regiment as Young Soldiers. ALSO READ | Army Chief Naravane Assures Border Situation With China Under Control, Hopeful Of Resolving The Differences Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the ceremony was conducted without any military or civil dignitaries or parents of the recruits following all the norms and advisories issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) as well as by the Indian Army. The attestation parade with appropriate social distancing in consonance with the highest traditions of the Indian Army was reviewed by Col Rinchen Dorje, Commandant, LSRC. The Young Soldiers, hailing from all regions of Ladakh, took oath in unison to serve the Nation. The Reviewing Officer congratulated them and urged them to devote their life in service to the Nation as proud soldiers of the Indian Army. He exhorted the Young Soldiers to continue to strive hard in pursuit of excellence in all spheres and take a solemn vow to uphold the sovereignty of the Nation. "The ceremony was conducted without any military or civil dignitaries or parents of the recruits Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic," an Army press release said. The attestation parade followed all advisories issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Indian Army and followed the social distancing protocol, the press note said. Meanwhile, Manoj Mukund Naravane said on Saturday that the entire situation along the borders with China is under control and the process of disengagement has started. ALSO READ | Nepal Parliament Unanimously Passes Bill To Redraw Political Map Including Disputed Indian Territory After reviewing the passing out parade of 423 officers, at Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun, General Naravane said, "I would just like to assure everyone that the entire situation along our borders with China is under control." "We're having a series of talks which started with the Corps Commander level on June 6 and has been followed up with meetings at local level between Commanders of equivalent ranks," Naravane said.
