Ambani Security Threat Case: Innova Car Seized By NIA Belongs To Mumbai Police's Crime Branch
Sachin Vaze has admitted that he was a part of the conspiracy in the case and has been sent in NIA custody till March 25.
In a new development in connection with the ongoing investigation into the Mukesh Ambani security scare case, it has emerged the white Innova car seized by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) belongs to Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch, news agency ANI reported, quoting a Mumbai Police official.
The Innova car was seen in the CCTV footage along with the explosive-laden SUV outside Ambani’s Antilia residence.
This emerged post the questioning of assistant police inspector Sachin Vaze, arrested late last night by the NIA in connection with the case.

Vaze has admitted that he was a part of the conspiracy in the case and has been sent in NIA custody till March 25.
Sources suggest the arrested police inspector told the NIA during the investigation that he was a very small part of the plan and the Shiv Sena leaders named by him played a major role.
“I am a piece of iceberg in this case,” he told the investigators.
Sources have also confirmed that Vaze has revealed the involvement of other Mumbai Police officers in the case.
The case was handed over to the NIA after the mysterious death of a Thane-based businessman Mansukh Hiran, who had claimed that the vehicle had been stolen a week earlier. His body was found in a creek at Thane on March 5.
Hiran's wife had claimed that her husband had given the SUV to Vaze in November, which the officer returned in the first week of February.
During his questioning by the ATS, Vaze had denied using the SUV that was in possession of Hiran.
Vaze has been booked under Section 120 (B) for criminal conspiracy, Section 286 for negligent conduct with respect to explosive substance, Section 465 for forgery, Section 473 for making or possessing counterfeit seal and Section 506(2) for criminal intimidation.
Earlier on Saturday, Vaze posted a cryptic WhatsApp status claiming he is being falsely implicated in the case and the “time to say goodbye” to the world is getting closer.
Amid allegations linked to his role in the bomb scare case and the alleged murder of Thane resident Mansukh Hiren, Vaze was on Friday moved out from the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) of the Mumbai Police Crime Branch to the Special Branch.
Earlier on February 25, the Scorpio was found near Ambani's residence with explosives and a threat letter inside.
