After ungainly tenure, Delhi chief secretary Anshu Prakash goes back to Centre

Anshu Prakash had hit headlines earlier this year when he was allegedly assaulted by AAP MLAs during a meeting at Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's official residence. The incident took place on the night of February 19.

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Dev replaced Anshu Prakash as the chief secretary of the national capital. Dev is a 1987-batch IAS officer and has also been Chandigarh UT adviser. Anshu Prakash, who had an ungainly tenure as chief secretary, was recently transferred to the department of telecommunications of the central government. He has been appointed as additional secretary in the telecom department. Prakash had hit headlines earlier this year when he was allegedly assaulted by AAP MLAs during a meeting at Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's official residence. The incident took place on the night of February 19. On October 25, Kejriwal, Sisodia and nine other AAP MLAs were granted bail by the trial court in the assault case. The other two MLAs, Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal, arrested in the case, were granted bail by the high court. The alleged assault gave rise to a bitter tussle between the Delhi government and its bureaucrats.
