After Singhu, Vehicular Movement Starts At Delhi's Ghazipur Border After Over A Year

After agreeing with the government on the farm laws and other demands, the farmers have left for their homes from the Delhi borders. Vehicles can be seen running smoothly. Watch video below.

After more than a year of farmers blocking the national highways connecting Delhi to protest against the three farm laws that were passed by the central government, the roads near the Ghazipur border of Delhi have been opened. At Ghazipur border, one lane has been opened for vehicular movement, reported ANI.

Two lanes were also opened at the Singhu border, on Wednesday. Traffic has started here after about a year of farmers' protests. Looks like normalcy is returning to the highway traffic of New Delhi as vehicles move smoothly on the dedicated lanes. 

After agreeing with the government on the farm laws and other demands, the farmers have left for their homes from the Delhi borders. Under the leadership of Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) national spokesperson, Rakesh Tikait on the Ghazipur border, all the farmers completely vacated the border on Wednesday. Before vacating the Ghazipur border, the farmers performed a religious ritual in the morning and vacated the border, thanking everyone.

On this occasion, Rakesh Tikait and others, now celebrating the victory, reached Modinagar, Meerut, Daurala toll plaza, Mansoorpur, Sauram, and Tikait's village Sisauli from the border.

Rakesh Tikait while talking to the media while vacating the border said, 'I want to thank everyone. I also want to thank the people who ran langar on the borders of Delhi. Earlier, farmers had vacated the border from Singhu and Tikri border. Now the employees of the National Highway Authority of India are engaged in cleaning the expressway, repairing the electrical wires so that all the routes can be opened for the common citizens soon."
