Abducted Arunachal Teen Tortured, Given Electric Shock In Chinese Custody, Alleges Father
His father Opang Taron is not a happy man as he said that his son was tortured by the Chinese army for more than a week and he is exhausted.
New Delhi: The Arunachal Pradesh teen who was abducted by the Chinese Army (PLA) reunited with his family on Monday. The Indian Army negotiated with the Chinese to help Miram Taron reunite with his family in Tuting in the Siang district of the state.
But his father Opang Taron is not a happy man as he said that his son was tortured by the Chinese army for more than a week and he is exhausted.
"He is still in shock. He was kicked in the back and given a mild electric shock initially. He was kept blindfolded most of the time and his hands were tied during captivity. They untied him only when it was time to eat or relieve himself. But, they provided him with adequate food," said Opang Taron, reports PTI.
Opang further said, "he is still disoriented from what we went through across the border. He was kicked in the back and given a mild electric shock initially."
Miram 17, had gone for a hunting trip with a friend when he went missing on January 18. His friend, however, managed to escape. It was alleged that the Chinese army (PLA) had abducted him. Soon after the news of his disappearance spread, the Indian government and the army were in a hectic parley with the Chinese.
On January 27, the Chinese army handed over Miram to the Indian Army at the Wacha-Damai interaction point at Kibithu in Anjaw district. Miram had to undergo quarantine and after completing legal formalities reunited with his family on Monday.
